Be on the look out tomorrow for the video of the traditional Zavalla ISD senior and kindergarten walk, as the Zavalla student body congratulates the TWO graduating classes of 2024.

The Zavalla Athletic Banquet will be Wednesday, May 15th starting at 6pm.
Only athletes & the parents eat free. Anyone else is $10.00 ea. The meal will be 2 tacos, beans, rice, dessert, tea or water.

The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) announced the four finalists and winner of the Dean Weese Outstanding Coach Award recently, honoring coaches from around the state for their hard work and dedication to their student-athletes.
Zavalla High School head coach Zachary Daugherty, who just completed his 8th season overall and 4th as a head coach, was selected as this year's Class 1A, 2023-2024 winner.
Coach D coached the Lady Eagles this season and helped guide the Lady Eagles to the regional quarterfinals where they came up short against the Regional Finalist Slocum Lady Mustangs. The Lady Eagles’ overall record this year was 24-10.
TABC awards are nominated by Texas High School basketball coaches and voted on by Regional coordinators and committees.
Coaches cannot nominate themselves, so in order to be considered for this award you must be nominated by another head coach in the state, which makes this award even more meaningful.
Winners will be recognized at The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Clinic May 17th at 3:30pm in San Antonio.

Proud would be an understatement of how proud we are of Tony Niederhofer!! He showed up and showed out today. His goal as well as coaches was for him to break a 5 minute mile and not only did he accomplish that goal he also managed his way into 3rd place and made it home with some hardware. Tony finished with a 4:54 mile. Way to go!!!
Garyn Hooks and Arissa Mettlen gave it their all today in their events! Garyn Placed 15th in shot and Arissa got 14th in the 800m.
Regional Track Meet Information:
Let’s make sure and congratulate our regional qualifiers when you see them. They left it all out in the track today and made Zavalla Proud. Tony Niederhofer placed 7th in the 3200m, Kasen Blair placed 10th in the 110H and 11th in the 300H, Summer Ogden placed 9th in the 100m, and Kenzie Shives placed 14th in the 200m. Tomorrow, Garyn Hooks will be throwing shot, Arissa Mettlen will be running in the finals for the 800m, and Tony Niederhofer will be running in the finals for the 1600m.

The Lady Eagles softball program will be hosting a Cancer Awareness game on Tuesday, April 9th, at 4 pm. to support the fight against cancer. So come out and wear your pink.
Following that game, we will host an Armed Forces Salute game to show support for all Military Service Men and Women. Join us as a community on Tuesday, April 9th, for this softball doubleheader.
Today the Jr. High Eagles & Lady Eagles head on over to Hemphill ISD for their first track meet of the season. Come on out and support as they look to compete!!! The schedule is below:
