Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)
Zavalla ISD announced today it will operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge. This approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.

Only athletes & the parents eat free. Anyone else is $10.00 ea. The meal will be 2 tacos, beans, rice, dessert, tea or water.

The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) announced the four finalists and winner of the Dean Weese Outstanding Coach Award recently, honoring coaches from around the state for their hard work and dedication to their student-athletes.
Zavalla High School head coach Zachary Daugherty, who just completed his 8th season overall and 4th as a head coach, was selected as this year's Class 1A, 2023-2024 winner.
Coach D coached the Lady Eagles this season and helped guide the Lady Eagles to the regional quarterfinals where they came up short against the Regional Finalist Slocum Lady Mustangs. The Lady Eagles’ overall record this year was 24-10.
TABC awards are nominated by Texas High School basketball coaches and voted on by Regional coordinators and committees.
Coaches cannot nominate themselves, so in order to be considered for this award you must be nominated by another head coach in the state, which makes this award even more meaningful.
Winners will be recognized at The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Clinic May 17th at 3:30pm in San Antonio.
