Reminder:
December 16th is an early release. Car riders dismiss at 11:45 a.m. and buses at 12:00 P.M.
Dec. 19-Jan.3 is our Christmas Break.
School resumes Jan. 4, 2023.

Mrs. McCoy’s Third Grade class read Cynthia Rylant’s book, Silver Packages. The story was inspired by a real train, the ‘Santa Train,’ which rolls through the Appalachian Mountains each Christmas season. From this train, tons of toys and treats are tossed by volunteers to the children of coal towns who wait patiently by the tracks. This has been happening every Christmas since 1943. Mrs. McCoy’s class wrote letters of gratitude to their families, sealed them in silver packages, hung them in their class Christmas tree until they take them when they leave for Christmas break.

Mrs. McCoy’s read Eve Bunting’s book, Night Tree to 3rd grade and then they created peanut butter bird feeders that they will hang outside for the birds to enjoy over Christmas break.

While creating then kneading our salt dough for our Christmas ornaments, Third grade taught Coach D the proper way to spell and knead dough!

Join us Friday, December 16th at 8:30am in the cafeteria as the elementary students look to put on a program for the community. Afterwards parents are welcome to stay and go to the parties in their child’s room. Thank you and we look forwarding to seeing you there!!!
